Description Sandblasting with the Holy Trinity A magnificent icon depicting the Holy Trinity. A unique composition, full of symbolism, which is mainly found in post-Byzantine times. It represents the three Persons of the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son—depicted to His right—and the Holy Spirit. In this particular depiction of the Holy Trinity, God the Father appears as an elderly figure with white hair and beard. Jesus, the Son of God, is seated next to Him. The Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, hovers between them. The Holy Trinity refers to the totality of God’s persons in Christianity. God is one in essence (nature) but three in persons (hypostases). The three persons or hypostases are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, which are indivisible and consubstantial.
