This artwork celebrates their culture, history, and enduring connection to Country. About the Artist Cedric Varcoe is a proud contemporary Ngarrindjeri artist from South Australia. His work tells the creation stories of his Country, spanning the lower River Murray, the Coorong, the Lower Lakes, the South Coast, and Kangaroo Island. Beginning as a child inspired by his family, Cedric has developed a distinctive style that is celebrated nationally and internationally. His art appears in galleries, community murals, and public collections across Australia and overseas. He has twice won the Port Augusta Malka Art Prize and continues to share Ngarrindjeri culture through contemporary mediums. Through his partnership with Better World Arts, Cedric’s designs appear on a wide range of ethical and authentic products, from ceramics to textiles.
