Vanamo baby slings are ecological and ethically produced in Finland from pure natural materials. Because of our special weaving technique Vanamo ring slings are soft, moldable and strong. You can comfortably carry the baby from birth to toddler ages. Woven fabric is also breathable and cool. The combination of linen, silk and Kapok makes the ring sling light & airy - yet strong and supportive. Although the linen-silk Vanamo sling is cool and airy for the summer, the wrap can be used during all seasons. This medium weight sling is great for babies of all ages as well as toddlers. Vanamo sling will soften up quite quickly by using and wearing. Bourette silk is a very lively and irregular yarn and it contains lots of small slubs and nubs, and it can even contain little amount of haylike organic material. Bourette silk makes the fabric very structured and gives the wrap great grip. Kapok is a very light weight plant fibre with a hollow structure. 80 % of kapok fibre is air! Kapok is spinned with organic cotton which strengthens the yarn. Kapok makes the fabric more porous and breathable, and it is also thermoregulating. Because of it's lightness the percentage of Kapok in the total weight of fabric is low but the percentage in the volume is higher. Use steam of iron the wrap while still a little damp. NO tumble-drying! We recommend washing the baby wrap before you start using it. The wrap will become softer and easier to wrap with after washing & ironing, and the fabric will obtain it's optimum structure and density. Each baby wrap includes some extra length for shrinking.
